Cheat codes

Age of Empires III cheat codes are entered through the in-game chat box and can grant resources, reveal the map, alter game speed, skip a campaign scenario or spawn special units. This guide groups the recorded commands by the game or expansion that introduced them, explains their effects, and separately indexes cheat-unit summon codes. These are testing and sandbox tools, not ordinary civilization options.

What cheat codes identify

During a game, press Enter to open chat, type a command and submit it. The listed commands are not case-sensitive. Most take effect immediately; repeated use can toggle some effects, such as speed always wins. A spawned unit is placed through the game’s special cheat behavior rather than trained from its normal production building. The Definitive Edition applies an achievement and medal restriction after cheat use, with the tuck tuck tuck exception described below.

Recorded unit codes

Use the command list for a private sandbox match, scenario testing or identifying a deliberately spawned special unit. Keep the game version in mind: The African Royals and Knights of the Mediterranean added their own commands, while the original game and The Asian Dynasties have separate groups. For normal multiplayer strategy, use the civilization, unit and technology entries; cheat-spawned forces do not represent a legal production route or standard counter matchup.

Original Age of Empires III commands

a recent study indicated that 100% of herdables are obese fattens every herdable on the map, which can also benefit opponents. Give me liberty or give me coin adds 10,000 Coin; Medium Rare Please adds 10,000 Food; the Wood command is displayed censored by the game data; Nova & Orion adds 10,000 XP. X marks the spot reveals the map while leaving the Fog of War effect in place. speed always wins increases build, research, shipment and gather rates by 100 times for all players, and entering it again cancels the effect. this is too hard advances to the next campaign scenario.

Original special-unit and world commands

tuck tuck tuck spawns The Tommynator monster truck. ya gotta make do with what ya got spawns a Mediocre Bombard that fires Capybara. where's that axe? spawns George Crushington; o Canada 2005 spawns Lazerbear; don't kick the pitbull spawns Learicorn; we <3 fluffy!1! spawns Fluffy; wuv woo vol.2 spawns Flying Purple Tapir; and wee ooh wee ooh spawns BigAndy. cowhax turns living units on the map into Cows. safari creates 12 random huntables. trojan cow spawns Wood Cattle. red pocket creates a Lion Dance Parade at the player’s Town Center, which grants resources.

Control and display commands

sooo good enables humorous kill text for visible unit and building kills. all your base are belong to us <0-8> transfers control to the selected player; 0 selects Mother Nature. This can change how units behave and can end or destabilize a match if used on an eliminated player or in an unsupported state, so treat it as a testing command. Do not confuse X marks the spot, which preserves Fog of War, with commands that remove the fog completely.

The Asian Dynasties commands

a whole lot of love adds 10,000 of each available resource. trade plz adds 10,000 Export. ding ding ding spawns a Monster Ice Cream Truck, while mustard relish and burning oil spawns a Flaming Hot Dog Cart. These expansion commands follow the same chat-entry method and are separate from regular Home City shipments or Consulate options.

The African Royals commands

social media adds 10,000 Influence. devasd gives the player 10,000 XP and 10,000 of each resource, reveals the map, adds an XP trickle of 400, raises the player’s Explorer speed to ten times its base value, and increases that player’s build, research, shipment and gathering rates by 100 times. It also spawns three powerful Gatling Camels with laser attacks. i spit on you spawns one powerful Gatling Camel. These effects are far beyond ordinary unit statistics and should not be used as balance guidance.

Knights of the Mediterranean and later Definitive Edition additions

venividivinci spawns Leonardo’s Tank with increased statistics. feeling whelmed now? transforms all living units and buildings into Leonardo’s Tank. mercator reveals the entire map and removes the Fog of War. honey badger don't give a spawns a Honey Badger; the king of all beasts spawns two Guardian Lions; Granny Nanny turns Villagers into Dahomey Amazons; Release the hounds turns units into Wolf Beasts; I don't exist spawns a Penguin; and Flying Dutchman lets naval units move on land. Several of these commands first appeared in limited-time events before becoming available to all players with update 13.58326.

Definitive Edition achievements and medals

In Definitive Edition, using cheat codes disables achievement and medal progress for that session. The documented exception is tuck tuck tuck: outside The Art of War section, it can be used without blocking achievements or medals when a Town Center or another Home City shipment gather point is present, and entering the code has its own achievement. Because this rule is version-specific, do not assume original Age of Empires III behavior is identical.

How the special-unit index works

The unit-name table below preserves the recorded summon code associated with each cheat-unit entry. It is distinct from the command list above, whose codes can have effects other than creating a unit. Follow a linked unit page for its hit points, attacks and special abilities; do not infer ordinary training cost, population use or civilization access from a cheat association.
