Aztecs technology tree
The Aztecs technology tree index links recorded Age of Empires III units, buildings and research to their individual reference pages. It emphasizes entries whose game data directly identifies this faction and is not a complete reconstruction of every shared option in the in-game tree; check unit and technology pages for additional civilization access.

Civilization roster and research
The lists are grouped into units, buildings and technologies, then organized by the Age recorded in the game data. Shared options can appear in more than one civilization index; inclusion does not mean an item is unique. Follow an entry to check its cost, production or research site, prerequisites, counters and version band. A Home City Card, map alliance or scenario rule may change access, so this list is not a fixed build order.
Scope and availability
Scope: Age of Empires III civilization content. This index reflects matching entries in the saved game-fact records; each linked page gives its own version, Age and access conditions.
How to read the tree
Use the tree when planning an Age-up, Home City deck or response to an opponent. Find the unit line or upgrade that answers the immediate matchup, then check its entry for exact values and access rules. Map, mode, shipments, patch and edition determine which recorded options are useful in a particular match.

Check the entry for version and prerequisites
An index can include options recorded across multiple Age of Empires III releases. Older faction names, card unlocks, research prerequisites and campaign-only rules can change availability. Check the linked page’s version band and conditions before applying an option to a specific game.
Build an infantry army around its distinct roles
Aztecs have no ordinary cavalry line, so Coyote Runners supply fast melee pressure while other infantry fill ranged, anti-cavalry and siege roles. Arrow Knights can threaten artillery and structures from range; Eagle Runner Knights give the roster a mobile ranged option; Rams provide close-range siege. These units do not use the same counter profile, and the roster needs a frontline that can protect its ranged groups. Use the age list to find access, then check each unit page for its class, range and counters before committing population to a mass.
Warrior Priests and ceremonies are part of the roster
The Aztec Warrior Priest is both a support unit and a Community Plaza dancer; each contributes as two Villagers when assigned to a ceremony. That makes the Plaza a way to change military or economic timing, but dancers give up ordinary resource gathering while assigned. The Aztecs also have ceremony and technology entries that are not shared with Haudenosaunee or Lakota, so do not infer a common effect from the Native American category label. Compare the cost of gathering time with the unit or benefit required next, and protect the Plaza while its workers are committed. The Aztec tree includes advanced and civilization-specific options; use the linked card and technology pages to distinguish research, ceremony production and Home City shipments.
