British technology tree
The British technology tree index links recorded Age of Empires III units, buildings and research to their individual reference pages. It emphasizes entries whose game data directly identifies this faction and is not a complete reconstruction of every shared option in the in-game tree; check unit and technology pages for additional civilization access.

Civilization roster and research
The lists are grouped into units, buildings and technologies, then organized by the Age recorded in the game data. Shared options can appear in more than one civilization index; inclusion does not mean an item is unique. Follow an entry to check its cost, production or research site, prerequisites, counters and version band. A Home City Card, map alliance or scenario rule may change access, so this list is not a fixed build order.
Scope and availability
Scope: Age of Empires III civilization content. This index reflects matching entries in the saved game-fact records; each linked page gives its own version, Age and access conditions.
How to read the tree
Use the tree when planning an Age-up, Home City deck or response to an opponent. Find the unit line or upgrade that answers the immediate matchup, then check its entry for exact values and access rules. Map, mode, shipments, patch and edition determine which recorded options are useful in a particular match.

Check the entry for version and prerequisites
An index can include options recorded across multiple Age of Empires III releases. Older faction names, card unlocks, research prerequisites and campaign-only rules can change availability. Check the linked page’s version band and conditions before applying an option to a specific game.
Manor Houses connect housing to worker growth
The British economy uses Manor Houses as more than population buildings. Each completed Manor supports 10 population and adds a Settler, so the wood spent on housing also expands the worker line. This can accelerate growth, but it competes with early military production and other wood purchases. When reading the tree, compare Manor construction with the units and buildings needed to protect the new economy; a large Manor investment is only useful if the growing workforce survives. The Longbowman is a distinctive ranged option, while the wider roster adds familiar European infantry, cavalry and artillery choices.
Build an army around the current shipment timing
British Home City shipments arrive sooner only when the player earns the required Experience; the tree itself does not change shipment rules. Use exploration, Trading Posts and battles to support card timing, then choose units for the opponent’s army. Longbowmen can contribute range behind a frontline, while Musketeers or Hussars offer different close-combat roles. Check each unit entry for its actual Age, cost and counter classes, and check the Manor House page for housing and Settler values rather than assuming every British structure produces workers.
